ball joint symptoms

what are the symptoms i think mine are shot

keep getting a cluncking when setting off in 1st

if you move the wheel side to side quickly they sometimes knock and sometimes when you set off, only way of telling if its them for sure is getting a pry bar in and having a wiggle have the small rubber gaitors been split?..

i dont know, i know the CV boots have been replaced recently

You'll not only get movement side to side but also up and down

Worth having a go round with a spanner making sure everything is nipped up

yeh but you need a good old wiggle with the bar to detect up and down movement.

there are rubber gaitors to protect the ball from getting dirt/crap in them, check everything is tight first, top mounts.. etc etc...

Mine did that, and it made a creaking noise.

I think the lower supension arm was only around £60 from Renault.

ive come to the conclusiong its the drivers side ball joint now,
need to check it but its rainign, will take it into the garrage today, its under warrenty

Ball joint £10.

But its better "practice" to replace the arm
