Banging

Can any one tell me if any of you 172 phase 2 owners have expierienced a loud banging from the near side front when loss of traction occurs(especially in damp conditions)

I wouldnt like to say which side it comes from but yes - dont worry i think its perfectly normal. Personnally I try and avoid doing it as it cant do it much good but it is perfectly normal on the 172s (and probably 182s i guess)

I think the experts refer to it as axle tramp?

yeah mine does it all the time. i have no idea what it is? i think its traction vibration from the wheels spinning. dont really do it when the wheels spin in the wet just the dry and damp.

Yes, always in first when I floor it and mostly in the wet.

They should but it in the brochure as a special feature..... I think everyone in this forum has the same problem mate...
