Battery draining & now wont start

Car  RB 182
For the past few months I have had an issue with the battery draining even though brand new. The alternator is new (recon) so I can only assume something is draining it when the car is left off overnight?

There has been an ongoing fault for some time which I can never find the route cause of, all the diagnostic will give me is throttle position sensor. I've tried swapping over coil pack, TB and pedal with no luck. Does any of this point towards a faulty pump?

I would take the car to Freds or Micks but it wont fire up so stuck now :( Any tips on what to do or check? I've done the usual earth lead checks and they are all fine. The dash is completely off with no visual signs of water ingress or snagged cables.

Right, throw the tinfoil the f**k away. All ot does is inhibits the transmission of the key code to the inductive pickup in the ignition barrel.

When you put the key in what is the dash doing light wise?

Lol, was worth a try and I like tin foil :clown:

In second position the red light goes on for a second then off, fires up and stays off. There is an engine management light which has always been on with the P120 code or something like that. All relay contacts were cleaned the other month both inside and out.

Yes, but I have no idea why it wouldn't start this morning nor why the battery keeps draining. It's was only our of pure chance that I tried the tin foil and it worked. I tried re setting the ECU/UHC several times this morning, locking, unlocking and kept getting the clicky noise which I assume is the UHC? This time, nothing at all.

I will try again in the morning and after work.

It could be a UCH issue yes as it does control and manage security but you'd need to see what was happening on CLIP really and make a decision of key or UCH accordingly.
