ive been having a battery problem, my altenator has been checked and is fine but still my battery is losing charge some how, an its pissing me off as i cant go anywhere.
any ideas what it is? i faut faulty battery but i replaced it.
But to answer your question, have you got an immobiliser? That drains mine after a while.
Or have you got an amp? If you have, and it's wired to a permanent live rather than an on-off-with-the-ignition live, then that will suck the power out too
Check all your door and boot light switches are working properly as well and aren't stuck on!
Also, it might be worth checking all your connections to the alternator to make sure they are actually connected properly to the battery etc?
Sorry I cant be more help, you need to establish what the drain is on the battery first to know where to start looking, the only way to do that, is measure it.
I don't want to talk down your Garage, but most don't like to get involved in electrical problems, as someone on here (who shall remain nameless) said, its a black art to most mechanics.
Try taking it into somewhere like Lucas Services, or a good auto-electrician.
They have a better understanding and the test equipment to do it quickly. Could work out cheaper in the long run, and you will get a proper answer rather than a stab in the dark one.
