Bedford - this Friday

Anyone going to Bedford this Friday for the RenaultSport Track Day ?

Ill be there with my Cup, also my m8 is bringing his RSport modded Cup along, so hope the weather stays good.

i have been considering it for a few weeks.



my concerns:



1> rolling it and not being insured (i know it is unlikely but gambon corner in topgear is named for a reason) / collision with another car overtaking



2> how much damage / wear to breaks and tyres (i.e. whats the real cost of the day???)



3> It would be gay if its wet

I hear what ya saying Toonboy, and your concerns are legitimate, having done a load of track days in all sorts of cars, my answers would be ;

1) Very unlikely to roll at Bedford, the run off areas are massive. General rules on these sorts of days are no overtaking without cooperation of the car in front (in other words, you wait until the guy in front indicates to let you pass)

2) Yes, you will put more wear on the tyres & brakes, depending on how you drive (Im on my 3rd set of front tyres on the Cup after 14k miles, but I do a lot of track miles). Thats the price of having so much fun on a track.

3) If its wet itll be more challenging and fun getting oversteer in a FWD car, and the tyre/break wear is minimal.

Guess its all done to personal choice, my suggestion would be try one, that way you can decide for yourself.
