Been getting insurance quotes...

Car  Turbos.
I have been typing in my reg as you do to skip the car selection but it keeps coming up with my last car, is this just a case of them not updating their records? Had the Clio for a few months...

I never use my address, some companies do a credit search on you whilst you're getting quotes (elephant/admiral are the worst) this can give you a crap credit rating.

seriously, i have done quite a few with them over the last few months :( lets hope I dont need a lona or anything for a while!

Yep, I got my credit rating from Experian a few years back, as I'd been refused a credit card at the time. It was round the time I'd been shopping for insurance for my new car, had been working out quotes for a few different cars. When the report came it was peppered with credit checks from admiral/elephant and a couple of others that I forget the name of.

yeah but your insurance is based on your address isnt it? as different addresses fall into different categories of risk

Yeah but surely that doesn't mean they should credit check you unless you decide to take out the policy and pay in installments.

no i fully agree with you, however how do you get an accuate insurance quote without providing your address?

f**kers

Good job I've left Admiral otherwise I'd be ringing them up about that

Damn, i'm with Admiral!
I'm a little confused tho, how does simply getting a few quotes affect your credit rating? I thought this was only affected if you got into debt and couldn't make payments etc?
