been to look at a 172 today

Been to look at my local reanult delears today, looked a 172ff, was a 51 plate, only 11,000k!!! Has full service history and only 1 owner! But the price is £7700 and it's in mint condtion, truely is! Looks better than new. Brand new front tyres, 12months MOT 6months tax, reckon the price is good? Also it must be one of the lowest miled 172 on here!

Seems excessive for a 51 plate. Have a look in the for sale section to gauge prices.

still, thats a heavy price as I got an unmarked 02 plater with 60k for 6500 from a dealer. Many new parts so to pay 1200 more for low milage is mental, you could have a decent 182 for that price

not really, i choose low mileage over age anytime. it migh only b a month younger than that 02 example sib...

sounds ok to me. i suspect you can get a low mileage 182 now tho for circa 9k!

I did think the price was abit high, but everything is spot, can tell it's been a well looked after car, only did 2468 miles in it's first 2 years of life. Only thing is he was on about it being registered as a clio rl 1.2 92-93? and it comes up as that on insurance sites, is that dodgy?

got my 03 reg in 2004 it was just 11 months old i paid 7 k for it then and it had done 24 k just got my 182 cup for 9999 05 reg well i have had it 5 months now, seems so expencive for a 51 plate

not really, i choose low mileage over age anytime. it might only be a month younger than that 02 example sib...

I wouldn't choose a car on either of those, Miles don't mean anything if it's not been looked after.
A 51 plate should have at least 5 services done on it and the last one being a cambelt.

May be low miles but it's out of warranty too, has it had annual services as opposed to just the 12k service done early ?

It's only had 2 services since new, idearly it should be once a year, i can see why you guys like your clios so much and i only drove it for 30 mins!

I paid £7,300 for my 53 Plate a year ago with 19k on the clock.

You could easily get a 2004 model and have change for that price.

the Renault sport clios should be serviced every 12k or 2 years, so 2 services seems about right

I was dead set on getting a 182, but after seeing how beautifull the 172 was, starting to think it looks nicer than the 182. i'd rather get one for about £6K and have a few grand in my back pocket.

I've seen them for sale at garages for more then that, but it does seem high for a 51 plate regardless of millage.

Have a look on Pistonheads mate, theres loads of MK2 172's for sale.

I agree that the 172 for 7.7k is over priced - possibly by even upto a grand, but I think you'd be really hard pushed to get a 182 for that money (maybe a tatty early one - but not a decent one)

Tbh it seems that on here people really want to push the prices of clios down, I have no idea why they do it:S
