what have people changed to? is there a big diff? lookin at more like front components cos there wont really be arear shelf. and prob gonna leave the standard HU in/

depending on the budget, i could suggest various different speakers

changing the head unit will make a massive difference in sound quality, so not really worth changing just one of the two, either do both, or dont bother
