Best Splitter for 182 NOT K-TAX!

So I bought a Carbon Splitter and the piece of s**t has been hit by a fly and fallen apart, whats the next best alternative? And what looks the best?

Skoda Fabia VRS splitter and some carbon wrap if it has to be carbon! I just fitted the standard plastic Skoda splitter. Job done.

Not as good as the standard splitter, no.

I have a carbon one, it's on it's last legs now though, one last refurb then after that I'm scrapping it for something else

Fabia ones are 12 quid, so infinitely better as you'd be insane to pay the original prices for something that will also break (this goes for carbon too).

Completely agree with the above. Why pay so much for something in one of the most vulnerable places on a car.

If you smash it then £12 to replace is a wonderful feeling.

You can't break the Fabia one anyway :], it's made of a rubbery plastic!

I caught mine when parking a few months after returning it
I've sort of give up with looking after the splitter now

Yeah I only ever bent mine a little getting it on and off ramps.

It depends what you use your car for. Mine used to catch every morning on the carpark ramp at work so an expensive one would have been a terrible choice.

Used to be taken off when they were put on the car transporters when new

I guess a lot depends on how low you are, I'm on Eibach Prolines, which are a very small drop - my splitter goes over the curb at my old works parking space.

As long as it looks good I don't mind, if I would have known about the Fabian one in the first place I'm sure I would have used that then pay k-tax for there diabolical one.

Fabia looks ok. It's just a flat black strip of rubber, it just adds a nice bit if depth to the front end.

Not yet... But it's hardly been driven since fitting... So I will see how long it is until I get grabbed by the short and curlies for it! :/ I didn't know it would be so small until it arrived!

Ahhh got you, let me know if you do! Really want to get a set makes the front end look so much more tidy. Fabia splitter it is then! Need to ask them for a VRS one or just a fabia splitter?

VRS I believe! I was lazy and ordered off eBay after searching "Skoda Splitter" it Was £17 delivered. If you go to Skoda it's £11 and you can collect it from them directly. Girlfriends brother got his from Skoda directly so saved £6!

Its as simple as fil_b makes it sound really! I made a center line from my front Renault Diamond using some string and a weight and marked it up with a chalk pen, and then marked up the middle of the splitter by measuring it. Once I had the center lines I drilled a series of small pilot hole in the splitter to feed the self tapping screws through at regular intervals all along the splitter. After srewing the first one (The central screw!) into the bumper (It takes a little pressure on the end of the screw to get it to bit into the plastic of the bumper!) the rest just followed. You will need a junior hacksaw to trim the edges off the splitter, there is about an inch over over hang at each end, its soft rubbery plastic so cuts off really easy!
