Indeed...i'd have a trophy over a 182 cup all day as IMO the 182 was a pointless excercise by renault...

At least the 172 cup was properly track biased with no ABS, traction control etc..

and then the law changed meaning that renault couldnt sell a car that doesnt have ABS killing off what the original 172Cup started as.

The standard 182 had to appeal to others than track and fast road drivers... which it did very well. Comfort, toys and pace, all in one amazing little package.

It was a very worthwhile exercise IMO
