Best tyres for a non sport?

Right i've got a 1.4 and it'll be needing new tyres soon. Obviously its far from a performance machine, but i do like to work the poor thing hard sometimes.
Its got 16 inch 172 wheels on, so what are the best tyres I can get for all round goodness? Preferably £50 a corner max

would have thought with 172 wheels that you would be looking at budgets for 50 quid a corner

There no best its always a compromise.

Persoanly I'd go with the continential 2's

continental do a budget tyre called millenium they are spot on.. probably better than most branded imo

also barum is supposedly the best budget u can buy..

Each to there own but I'd always have the ontis over them there quieter and give both better ride and feeling well all round better tyres in all weather.
