Best way to remove c.v. grease from suspension

Whats the best way to remove a fairly large amount of C.V. joint grease from surrounding suspension parts? The boot has obviously split and its everywhere :dapprove: Stubborn stuff that seems very hard to get rid of....

And dont just say a de-greaser, I've tried some but it doesnt half make a mess!:dead:

Auto Glym Tar Remover. Stick on a cloth, and the stuff just wipes off.

Theres one called AG Engine Cleaner or similar that is good as well. Removed loads of oil and muck from a leak I had.

Steam cleaner at about 110 degrees. (only way) Products will just dilute + it will smear around.

Lots of elbow grease, rags and all of the above will do it.

Catching it early is key. It's a nightmare to shift once it's got dirt etc in it.

Honestly, this works a treat. I had the stuff stuck all up the inside of my wheels. Nothing would make it budge 'till I gave the tar remover a go. I was that shocked I made a thread about it

This. Or you could try very hot water and fairy liquid, cuts through grease! I've used it on wheels before to remove CV grease and it does work!

Thinking about it, I may have some of this knocking about somewhere in the garage

If not, some tar remover combined with hot water and fairy sounds like the way forward
