Better front brakes pads - your recommendations please?

  172 Ph1/Scooby MY00
The time has come to check my front brake pads, so I think I might as well change them while they're out. Bog standard Ferodo's from Halfords or something more lush, your thoughts?

It's a 172 by the way.

Cheers, Rob669

Thanks chaps, it's sounding like the DS2500s are right for me. Straight replacement into the existing caliper's, right?

yep, some people have had to grind them down a tiny bit, but i normally just remove the stupid clip things on the calipers and they go striaght in (i think they're anti squeal clips)

Yep there replacment pads.
I think you might have to give them a bit of a fiddling to get them in but its nothing serious.

Yup, I had to grind 1mm off the backing plate on mine (although I've never tried it Al-Fredo style)

I'll get my hammer ready then! Bloody 'ell!! If they are right, surely they fit in?

Al-Fredo style, I like it Omar. Not sure I fancy running without all the bits attached though Fred.

So 1mm to be removed is it, I take it from the sides of the backing plate do I?

Oh, forgot to say. What about the Green Stuff ones, a bit cheaper but any good? And do they fit? Please say yes!
