Big Bad tar Spots

Right, ive got some big tar spots on my wheels, and by that i mean thick as well. Ive tried ye olde autoglym tar remover but its not worked.

Is there anything i can do, no pics sorry. Thinking of knife action lol.

If tar remover doesnt work i wouldnt even bother with clay i had this problem on mine but not tar was copper grease or something and would budge with anyhting i tried

If it is tar clay should shear it off.

Clay should be used to get rid of the stuff you can't see....Not the other way around!

Not found any tar that the AG won't remove. How much you using and how long you leaving it to do it's thing for ?

wetting a cloth, and dabbing it generously, leave it for about 30 mins usually. Tried rubbing it hard as well for a while. Nothing happens.

Maybe it isnt tar. I might grab a claybar and try it. Failing that, not really sure what to use tbh. But theyre bad and ive also noticed its also in the form of runnin, like its been a liquid at one point.

Don't wet thew cloth then, will dilute it. Decant some into a small spray bottle and spray it on.

This may have been the same thing i had on the inside of a couple of mine, tried everything and in the end had to resort to wheel cleaner on a cloth that did rub it off, Make sure you wash this off straight away, thoroughly.

do you think some nitro moors will do the trick ? or some old fasioned paint stripper ?

Halfrauds will have cans of the stuff, the reason why it's not generally recommended is that it's highly acidic (or alkaline, can't remember) so can damage the finish on your wheels.

Fire would be my suggestion. And lots of it.

Failing that, new wheel. One coated in gold.

I had this problem on my old car, i tried everything then oneday i was t-cutting the old girl and thought lets try this on my rims and low and behold a it all came off! obviously with alot of elbow grease, but well worth it.

try AG tar and glue remover or else try autosmart tardis

i used carplan wonder wheels on my cup wheels cleaned them up a treat and got lots of tar off
