She'll get there! So, heres my efforts after rubbing down & spraying the plastic strips etc. Quite pleased with the results, I was rushed for time so they could have been better! Shes desperate to be de dented :dapprove: Im on the look out for some lowering springs too ;)

Firstly I rubbed the plastics down with 120 wet n dry, then worked my way up to 1200 & primed.

Whilst I waited a good half hour or so inbetween coats (3) I got on with the calliper painting.

Then smoothed down with 2500 & 3000 wet n dry. Cleaned & applied a few coats of Renault black.

Then rubbed down with 3000 again after all my coats, polished back up with the da, menz polish & pads & applied a few coats of laquer  Again, the next day rubbed down with 3000 & polished back up :D

She's slowly coming along! cheers

Jumping on the black/yellow bandwagon I see :P

Lowered + black wheels = done. :)

Looks smart that mate, rattle can job or proper gun?

Dont see the point in rubbing down to 3000 before paint like, 800 is enough.

I wanted to make sure it were right! ;)

rattle cans & was my first job like this too, im pretty impressed myself :)

lol, I've worked my arse off non stop since friday evening! Couldn't spray during the day as i knew some numpty would come along & mess them up!

cheers peeps

No worries Edd!

Wish the strips were perfect but I remember on my 182 the strips were bumpy so he ho! Not too bad, just wanna lowere her & spray the wheels ;)

You do like painting your calipers silly colours don't you. White & Yellow! ;)

Clean tho!

How long until this one's locked away in the hanger too? You'll need a cheap runaround then... :p

Good work though.

lol at you two! I really like yellow callipers now, i may be changing the white ones ........ ;)

Very good results. Though do I read that right that you sanded and polished them, then applied more lacquer over the top? Or am I reading that wrong?

For future reference polishing before re-lacquering is a waste of time, just re-lacquer over them once you've taken them down with 2500 or whatever, and I hope you scuffed them over again and didn't just lacquer straight over the polish!

i wet sanded with 3000, then polished back up for smoothness n get rid of orange peel. End

how much wud u charge for the components you have done in this thread bcos honestly great job! I want you to do mine!! :D

cheers peeps. Dean i tried to pm a guide but the computer peed me off!!! gggrrr! Pm me buddy :)
