black clios

  E87 118i

my GF just ordered a new 1.2 16V in black !! Ive always heard things like "black gets too hot", "black shows scratched and dirt" etc.

My car is a funny blue and also shows the dirt quicky....

Anyone with a black clio have any experience with their cars, it does look good when new and shiny, what about in the long term ?

thanks

itll look very dirty when its dirty.. and very clean when its clean.. my dark blue Clio is the same..

I have a grey clio RT and I only noticed it was dirty when I leaned against it the other day. My trousers were covered in crap when I stepped back. So I cleaned it, and I could definatly tell the difference. Its odd really, it doesnt look dirty until you clean it.

not meanin to start another colour war of course :D

but black cars are the fastest ;)

I had a black clio (with the gold speckles in it) for 2 years. The winter months were the worst for showing the dirt but they dont half look fab clean...... I used Colour Magic Black polish regularly and it kept it looking mint and even helped hide some of the finer scratches you inevitably pick up

black is a right hed turner when clean. get ya gf to do summat to her clio tho. way too many standard ones about. black ones are getting common as fcuk.

dun a bit to mine, see my clio, under pics bit.

Ive got a black one it does look dirty quite quickly but when you clean and polish it it does look good.

My old escort never looked clean or dirty so washing it felt like a waste of time I much prefere a car which looks good and noticable when its clean.

A black car will get hotter but its a tiny amount probaly not even noticble with a thermonitor. The car doesnt react any different to scratches than any other car IMO it maybe even easier to touch up as its a strong colour which doesnt fade as much.

As long as you keep it cleaned regaulatly it should look excellent.

Bonus of a black one is the car looks coloured coded as the bumper strips and side strips are black as standard.

When I bought mine the dealer said all black Clio bought by young people were black and I have to admit I rarly see a none black Dynamic one. If everyone gets them in black it must say something about them.

Agree with Black Fox. Pig to clean but look ace when clean. They do show the scratches. But to be honest so does my blue dynamique. My first dynamique was a black one. At the time Black was VERY rare. Now everyone has a black one.

My new vRS is black.

agree with above..ie it looks nothing when its dirty but class when clean!

I get it valeted at a local garage to save hours of my life!
