Blocking unknown and private numbers

I've got an iPhone 7 and am getting pestered with calls from unknown and private numbers. Is there anyway of blocking these mofos?

Easy, just go into the recent calls list, press the info button for the number you want to block, then scroll down and select Block this caller.

The number won't be there. The issue is they're private/unknown.

Nothing you can do about those from the phone AFAIK
