BMC CDA fitted (pics)

  172, Tiguan

currently the air feed is sitting slotted over the oe cold air feed.

TBH it feels absolutly fine, and as Si said sounds superb.

I will be buying a cold air feed pipe from Green filters asap, as the current one is a bit harsh and rubbing on one of the coolant pipes slightly.

Also using the oe pipe as a guide uses this funny valve thingy aparently.

glad you like it. i ordered one a week last friday from demontweeks so should be here any day now.

do you have to oil it or is it pre-oiled like the k&N filters.

also have have you any tips for fitting the cda as you seemed to have a few probs, ill also be fitting it to the hillpower silicone pipe.

cheers pete :)

TBH if youe getting the Hillpower pipe its OK because it allows you to cut it - which gives you more room to play with.

Id invest in a better cold air feed pipe as the standard one supplied with the kit is crap.

Now ive had experience fitting it, I can revert back to standard for service time in about 10 minutes, its all pretty straight foward.

hehe, Show off.

Looks good, Think I may order the hill power pipe at the same time as the ECU tomorrow, hehe

Blimey spending money! Lets hope it sorts all the problems out for you, which it should.

Oh so wats in the BMC CDA? If its foam, when dirty, is it reusable after cleaning or do I have to purchase a new foam. Im new to the world of mods!

  Suzuki SV1000S

Well inside the cda is a cotton gause, kinda like the K&Ns filters, Most filters come with cleaners anyway, I mean you can get cleaning kits for them, wouldnt worry bout that though, Only reason I am not keen on Foam is that you dont really get any change in sound, still sound normal, whereas with the cda and k&N and Quickshift one you get a growling sound because you can hear it sucking the air in!

How much does it cost jon ? Also, does it cause the same problem as the Viper where the car runs too lean so you have to get it chipped so that it is setup properly ?

  172, Tiguan

Well the cost totals up to about 280 when you add the price of the hillpower bend and the cold air feed pipe.

It doesnt run lean, at least no problems were picked up on the rollers on Saturday.

Ive not been advised it will anyway.

Have I been misinformed about the Viper then ? Does that run lean do you know ?

What sort of power gains can you expect from the BMC then ? Can you feel the difference ?

Where could I place order for a CDA BMC? I am not in UK so got to ship the stuff in.

Daipac: dats what I have been told too....:)

Yes it feels different

noticable midrange performance gain

Carnoisser Southend

Do a search, tbh i think if i added an exhaust it would require a remap - but just having a filter isnt to bad if i recall.

If it had been bad the machine at the rolling road would have picked it up.

Guys, It will always run a little bit more lean, because your shoving more air in and not increase the fuel to match it, But it wont damage the car.

Also it changes depending on the car, at the rr day on Saturday, Mine was running lean and Sis wasnt and we have the same induction kits (I have an exhaust aswell though hhhmmmm),

Is always a good idea to get a new chip if you add an IK and an Exhaust really - no matter which induction kit you get, unless it is a replacement element.

George, that is what I have always been led to believe that if you get an exhaust and IK then it is always best to sort out a chip too.

What sort of bhp increase can you expect from an exhaust, IK and chip ?

  Suzuki SV1000S

Probably about 10hp, But the torque increase is where it really counts, I have a cat back zorst from Scorpion and a Quickshjift Taipan 2 IK and I felt a difference with both, But found it is running too lean, So am trying to find a good chip now,

Torque mate, all about the torque

  Suzuki SV1000S

Well I got the IK when it was a Prototype and so only cost me £150, Zorst was £400 including fitting and chip will be about £250-£300

Wheels though, ouch

My Viper doesnt cause the engine to run lean...

I want to get the 3 mods mentioned aswell as new wheels. OUCH !

I was told that the Viper does its job too well and because of all the extra air it causes it to run lean ???

  Suzuki SV1000S

mmmm, Well probably matey, I was going to get the viper but then had the opportunity to get the Quickshift kit, They are the same in terms of performance improvement but the quickshift sounds better. Would get the IK first then the zorst and then the chip, definately leave chip till youve got the other two first yeah!

Out of the BMC and Viper, which would be the best to get then ? Someone mentioned that CS members can get the BMC for £165 ? I know we can get the deal on the Viper for £200 at the moment too.

Not any more I am afraid mate, the offer has ended.

I was told that the CDAs had come up in price over the last few months.

I spoke to BB Tuning this morning.

As far as they are concerned , the offer still stands. They will not send out the ClioSport Vipers until all have ordered

So therefore, although I ordered last week, I have to wait until next week for it to be shipped

Sorry Coco worded that wrong. The offer has now finished but if you ordered it through myself this is still going ahead.
