Boiling battery

  225 Cup & Williams
Fitted a new alternator to my williams last weekend the old one that was on it was 70amps rating and the new one i've put on is 90 amps. Looked under the bonnet yesterday and the battery was boiling hot and acid was leaking out it. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Maybe their battery's could handle it and yours can't?

Unless it was 100% the same battery as the other guys used, You've created yor own problem.

Careful dealing with acid though.

its most likely venting. car batteries arent sealed, or vrla, so they will vent acid out when they get hot. getting warm is part of the process when they discharge and charge. how hot was yours? i'd say the battery was goosed anyway.
