bonnet sound deadening / heat proofing

i am thinking about removing this on my phase 1 172 as i have been told it rubs on the engine cover and will cause the paint to mark.

something i want to double check though is that the heat from the engine won't damage the bonnet in anyway

if it matters i have a super fly lightweight ally bonnet....lol

Its only sound deadning your bonnet will be fine

As above it will be fine, mine rubs on the cover and the cable throttle bracket.
