boot net..... links in weird position

Bit of a dumb question maybe......
I finally got a genuine Renault boot net, square one with 4 plastic clips at either corner.
Ive got a 182 and went to fit it but the metal liks are set in a weird position.
the rings close to the back seats are fine but the opposite ones are very far each other.
I can barely reach the the last link as the net is being stretched in a funny way.
(doesnt look like a square anymore)

Is that a usual thing to deal with?

I cant almost reach it, the net must be to small for the clio both,its an unofficial item.

The genuine one fits without much stretching. I've heard the Peugeot one fits, too.
