Bottom ball join bolt sizes

  White Clio 1.2 @ 172
Apologies if this is a repost, couldn't find it via search so here goes:

Can anyone tell me the exact size x length of the bolts/nuts used for the bottom ball joint to the wishbone. Need to order some replacements.

Cheers,
Dean.

12mm thread IIRC but not sure on the length (just done it today).

Isn't one actually splined too? I only changed the one rather than take the splined one out and the pack that came with the new ball joint didn't come with a splined bolt, just two normal ones.

Thread length of the bolts in my pack are exactly one and a half inches. They do seem slightly longer than the originals though.

That may explain why I have movement in my bottom ball joints. May need to just bite the bullet and order a new set. Thanks for the info.

I had a ballache trying to order my ball joint from GSF as they weren't sure whether to sell me one with 10mm thread or 12 (as they didn't have one listed for the 182) and Eurocarparts didn't either. I had to do a lot of digging on here and found the Lemforder set for the 172 was the same and one of the better quality ones apparently (though the TRW one from GSF is supposed to be decent too). I paid about £21 for the joint and bolts from Eurocarparts, maybe someone has supplied you with the wrong set?

I didn't get a set if I'm honest. It will be from when I did the engine transplant I'll of most likely used the wrong bolts when fitting it all back in. It's been fine for 18 months but over time the bolt has slackened. Thanks for the info, I'll order a new replacement set of bottom ball joints for both sides and be done with it.
