Bought a mk2 172!

well i decided astra coupe turbo wasnt for me, so searched auto trader for a nice clio 172.
Picked up a black, 40k miles, fsh, absolutely mint, aftermarket allooys and exhaust!!

So on way home had to test it, handles amazingly, goes really really well! Driving position is great as well, has more driver envolvement than my 2ltr corsa did!

Just need to search for a decent induction kit now, as needs more induction roar! What do people reccomend?

astra coupe is much larger, and slower but more tuneable and the z20let isnt the best engine vauxhall made!

Its faster than the corsa simply because it grips, id say 2nd gear and upto 100 mph there on par, but off the line clio kills it!
Also my corsa would light the tyres in 2nd gear if i gave it full boot!

Not my choice in colour but at least you kept the bodywork subtle, as for wheels on the 172 if you plan on driving rather than cruising stick to 16s but bin the standard 195 rubber and stick on 205 instead. Oh and get yourself a set of H&R coilovers, trust me you wont regret it.

corsa went for £5.5k

Yeh im very very happy with my clio,
Slightly worried what the engine reliability is like but il just keep to the service schedule, and il be changing oil every 2-3k miles
