Bought my first clio :)

  Dynamique 1.2 16v
Bough my first clio yesterday for 1500 :)
Gave me 500 quid for my crappy old corsa haha
its a 2001 dynamique 1.2 16v its done about 62k so not bad for its age
hopefullyy get it wednesday so will be adding pics to here soon
just a few things....
The drivers window doesnt go down coz of the cables get wrapped around the motor aparenty its a common wear and tear problem hes bought a new motor and everything so all i have to do is fit it. Is this an easy job ors it best left to an expert

also the recomended time to change the timing belt is about 65 70k how much will it cost for a new one to be fitted

Welcome. :)

It should've had a cambelt change already, being 12 years-old. I'd hope so anyway!

Window regulators are a common fault too. £40 from a breaker and about 30 mins to fit. They're not hard.

Unfortunatly the car hasnt got any service history so the dealer cant tell me wether or not if the belt had been done so it could already done haha anyway of finding this out just by looking at belt?

If that's the case I wouldn't be driving it at all until it's done.

Book it in ASAP. There are a few great specialists on here that'll cater for you.

Fred@BTM or Birchdown would be my choices.

Congrats on the car mate, hope you'll love it as much as I love mine. I got my corsa after writing off a brand new Corsa SXi an can honestly say these cars are just as good!
The price you paid for it isn't great, mine cost me just a little bit more but had cambelt, tax for a year etc. An was a higher spec, for example electric roof, alarm etc. As for your window, the motor itself isn't very hard to fit, an even if you can't fit it, you shouldn't need to pay more than 50 for it to be fitted.

On a second reading, I agree as well with no service history etc that price is a joke. You need to find out about that can belt. Last thing you want is that bad boy snapping and taking the engine with it!
