brake disc/pad bedding in question..

  Fiesta ST3
i am finally getiing round to doing my brakes this week (goodridge lines, brembo hc disc's,greenstuff pads) but what is the best way to bed them in?
take it steady for a hundred or so miles? or i am sure i read somewhere about 60mph-0mph hard braking??
how have you guys bedded your new disc's and pads in:S

  titanic killer
Just atke it easy for a couple hundred miles well thats what ive always done anyway

I did mine on Saturday and I have been going easy on them all week, with a couple of heavy stomps at the end of my journeys, and then letting them cool down. Seems to be working :)
IIRC greenstuff pads have some sort of bedding in abrasive surface layer on them to speed up the bedding in process.

60-0mph is a bit steep, just take it easy drive as though you normally would, if ur wanting to test them try 30-0mph medium braking, heavy braking from 60-0mph will f**k your pads in notime stopping that quick is for emergency only imo

Do you have a reason to think that?

My bedding in was as per the EBC guidelines pretty much - take it easy for a couple of hundred miles to get the pads to match the shape of the discs, then several hard braking efforts in a row from 60 down to about 10, and a final 90-30 one, to get the pads bedded in fully. Let them cool off then drive like normal!

I changed my brake set-up to exactly the same as you are going to do.

I was initially not impressed at all with the Greenstuff pads, too much fade when hot.

I don't do many miles, but after about 1000 miles they had settled in quite nicely, just took an age to bed in driving normally.

i'm getting new pads and discs fitted tomorrow, as fair as i'm concerned I will just take it easy with the braking for the 1st 200 mile or so. I'm in the perfect situation really becuase being stuck in traffic every bloody day its stop start, stop start!

EBC recommend going 90mph then hard braking to 30mph? Id love to know who the bright spark was who thought and suggested that.

As suggested, light braking for 100 miles or so, let the pads bond to the disc shape and then brake as normal. Hard braking from the start is something i personally wouldnt attempt.

If they are track pads, then 90 to 30 does'nt matter does it.

True. Greenstuff are not track pads though?

Depedns on the brakes suupplier.

Usualy the best thing is hard braking from say 60 to 10mph a few times then let them cool off.
