Brake Question

I'm changing my disks at the weekend, do I need to change my pads too?

The pads are fine, and have loads of wear left..

Just got a bit concerned when I read the box for the disks - saying that they reccomend changing both at the same time.

yes as they will score the new ones, they will be mis-shapen and so dig -in basicly

I'll order them tomorrow - they said I can get a saturday delivery if i order tomorrow morning.

I've never done them at the same time.

Never had a problem with scoring or uneven wear either.

Odd - Whoever it was that i spoke to at Yozzasport was saying that you should always change them at the same time. Otherwise you'll get shed loads of brake fade...

I woulnd't ever not do it.

Some places only sell disk as a pair.

not essential no (PF97's for example will go through 3 pairs of brembo discs!) but its good practise too

hi mate just a little advice, when tackling the rear discs, make sure your hand brake isnt on otherwise it will cause all sorts of problems. also you will need to re-use the exciting wheel bearings, ive just posted on another chat the best way to do it without damaging you nice new disc.
