Brakes failed at 70mph !

....ok ive changed my knickers and im now having a vodka and coke !

coming down a dual carriage way...brake for roundabout......well tried to...nothing happened....its amazing how much you can think of and how far you can travel in the space of what must only of been 2 seconds !

took my foot off and applied the brakes again immediately...pefectly fine !....this happened to anyone else ???......more than once ???...never happened to me before.

Only thing i can think of is that i had just driven through some sand....scattered on the road like they do after an accident......maybe that did something to the breaks....

Its happened to me several times.

Change your pads asap, they are probably mashed.

Mine started to break up and at some points went all of a sudden.

its happened to me too. I was in the wet though... reno garage said there were no problems - ive always found pressing the break a second time makes a difference

thanks Tom......ill get it looked at....hate taking my car to the bloody garage, but guess its better than embedding myself in a roundabout !!

  Shhh

Mine did this tho it was front inital startup. Parked the car outside work all day, then came out to go home. Being a nob i pulled away and probably went too 40mph on this bit of airfield when coming to a T junction i put the brakes on nothing was there, or it felt like brake assist was not working, I could feel the brakes working but not was powerful as my foot was at the floor. I then started to pump the brakes and they worked. From now on when starting the car, i pump the brake pedal till im happy with the pressure.

Surface was dry, and a dry day so no idea. I could understand if i had released the pressure from the brake system by removing the servo cap to refil the bottle. But i did not.
