Brakes lasting 10 months!?

  Trophy #473
Just had to buy new disks and pads, swapped for Brembo HC's and green stuff 10 months ago, started grinding this morning, disks are flush with the wear markers and all pads are shot or have 2/3 mm left.
this normal?
they have had a fair share of abuse over summer and 45 mins at donnigton, but would expect the disk to last at least over a year...

I dont think the brembo hc have much of a life span. Im fitting mine on Saturday if i can source some pads in time. Im going to the Nurbugring in July for about 15 laps so i think ill need a new set of discs by August. :D

Green stuff sometimes don't last that long.

Abuse will wear brakes out quickly.

check the sliders etc though are all working but it wouln't amaze me if you do a few miles I've got through a set in 2 months before now.

ive never got more than 20K / 12 months from a set

what out of your discs?? i think thats what he means, his discs are only lasting 10 months. thats not very long really. but as said. track use wont help your brake wear.
pads tho, thats a different story, can get through those in two or three if you try. lol

My 182 has done 27K and still on original discs and pads. I dont brake that hard.

Iv just went and bought Brembo Hc and greenstuffs

Should be alright though as I tend to slow down using the gears before I brake

I don't see that the time period has anything to do with it? Use is what wears brakes out, they don't just get thinner sat on the drive :D

I'm still on my original discs all round. I've changed the front pads once for Greenstuff. It passed its first MOT today so I guess they're still all fine :)

I'm on my third set of discs since it was new, as far as I can tell from previous receipts, and I'm coming up to 79k. But my last set were changed early as I had some Brembo discs to stick on.

It all depends how much you use the brakes, not the time period imho.
