Front or back?

Brakes are pretty important for me. Anything not right with them and I will change them.

low freq bass gets progressively louder the harder i brake/higher the speed

Ok i think its always one of three things really, 1) The obvious, stuff getting into the grooves 2) Cheapo pads with high metal content will always make the noise (but pads will last a long time) 3)Whoever fitted the pads (!) didnt use enough grease/lube on all the bits.

Im sure you know that already but i seriously doubt it would be anything else.

aye.

An easy thing to do is take the wheel off remove the disc retaining screw and press hard and rotate the disc. If th enoise goes/changes/is reduced then thats what it is. You will never get rid of it completely but this can reduce it to almost nothing.

Or if you feel active take the caliper off and the disc and clean the mating faces up properly.

But if you have not had the disks off recently or fitted new ones, start by checking the pads, may be just wear, or a bit of foreign matter stuck in one of them.
