braking problems

i have just put 16 v brakes on my 1.4 rt, everthing new apart from the carriers, the new pads and discs have done about 300 miles so should be beded in by now ? my braking is not what i expected it to be, they work but not much bettter than standard, i put some of those pagid fast road pads in but i just thought it would be better, any suggestions, im thinking theres something wrong with my master cylinder or something

i was just thinking if i got one of those brake check things done would they be able to tell me whats wrong ?
