Brands Hatch Track Day (20.2.2010) SaxMax Testing

Well on saturday i headed down to Brands Hatch to test out the 7d before the season kicks off with proper events. The lighting was a bit weird as its started out really sunny then by 4pm it was snowing and dark. Also i spent most of the time messing about with the video function (which i will post up once i have finished editing it) so didnt really spend that long on taking pics or playing with the different function but was still good. (some of the exposure are a little off where i have switched from video mode to stills and forget to change the settings - so definately something i will now remember in future)

Nice shots mate, sorry i didnt make it.

Only crit i can give would be the contrast on a few shots including that ^ scooby shot. And the shot at the bottom of paddock with the radical? would have worked better with a slower shutter speed.

The inside druids pan of the blue Saxo is a lovely shot, nice slow shutter speed with everything sharp. Perfect timing.

yeah that scooby shot was over exposed

had been shooting video on different settings and swapped back to stills mode and not noticed. im pretty pleased with the 7d just i didnt get much chance to mess about with all the different presets etc, and i was using expanded spot focusing but i should have maybe changed it to non expanded. Its all a learning curve really, 7d is definately not a camera like the 10d/20d/30d that you can just pick up and start shooting to its maxium potential straight away as it has so many different settings and custom functions etc. But yeah i was happy i got some reasonable images out of it and pans at like 1/30 etc, its just a case of practise really.
