Buggered bearings?

Think I may have worn wheel bearing(s) on the rear, but just want to ask what the obvious signs are. I haven’t jacked up the car yet to see if there’s any play/wheel movement, but a few weeks back a droning noise started to become audible above 70mph. Now the noise appears between 30-40mph, but quietens down thereafter until to you hit 70mph where it becomes quite loud. Would the droning noise from a shagged bearing be consistent or fade in and out as described?

That sounds like a bearing imo. Jack it up and see if there is any movement like you said.

sounds very much like wheel bearing. Don't fit cheap ones, you'll be doing the same job again a few weeks down the line

Really? I rarely (re: never) pay for genuine Renault parts.
