Building a fiberglass sub box...

felt the TT needed a bit of boom as the coupe doesnt have a sub as standad in the bose set up...

started today

empty boot

freshly fabricated structure, i used 7mm dowling, and a hot glue gun... yes i burnt my finger... yes it hurts :F

good stuff, but surely with a nice square corner in the boot it would have been easier to make an mdf box and it would have given you more space in the boot?

No a big square box, not only takes up more room but looks pap too, and is heavy

yes mdf boxs are easyer to make... but thats the point.. a challenge.. something different, ive build more MDF boxs that i care to think.. fancied something fifferent, more organic shape

Top marks for effort, but aren't you solving a problem that doesn't exist?
I would have used a conventional box with the right internal volume and it would probably take up less space.

subs only a littlun, worked out the volume roughly, and its reet, box will be wadded which allows for the box to be smaller.

should sound well

not going for BOOM BOOM with this one, been there done that, shook my fillings out.

you would be supprised haw smaller box you can get away with.

decided subs were so last year.. fitting a frizbee insted!!

front has a fair few layers on now n its deffo taking shape, sides n bottom are still very thin tho
