Bumped My Car & The Persons Claiming!!

Hi all.

Ok driving to work before i bumped into a car that was stationary at the lights, when i say bump i mean light bump. He was in a 57 plate VW Passat and i was in my megane and not 1 mark is on my megane bumper but his back bumper the splitter that goes underseath his car has like a spuare crack :| Hes trying to blame me and called the police in which the police came and looked at both cars etc and seen mine had no damage yet the guy is going to take his sister to the hospital for whiplash!

Is he taking the piss here??

And am i likely to end up paying out??

if she goes to hospital,
the hospital will examin her, and fingers crossed they wont find her with any injury,
also if he tries to make a personal injury claim,
the pictures will come in handy, as will the police report hopefully,

tbh, he reserves every right to claim,
if it was my car, i probably would
if it was your fault, you'll have to cough up,

Oh and btw im convinced i didnt even do the damage as it was dark he jumped out straight away and pointed to a black spot where the damage appeared to be loooool

But if he makes me lose the chance of gettin my clio on the road then i wont be very happy

but even knocks can do alot more damage that you can see on the bumper

i had a look under my car, an was supprised, twice ive knocked the back of my clio,
neither time was there any visable damage,

but underneith it was a different story

Yeah cos hes blatently blagging through his teeth lol, it dont matter anyway ill pay my excess of £600 or whatever.

No doubt my car would have fell to pieces 1st tho.

And yes warren i am, i was asking to see if he actually has a valid claim to a soft touch not if people would claim against me, i know you lot would but tbh if some1 knocked my car in the slighest and knew i had a mark already i wouldnt blame the other person.

But each to there own, guess every1s a vulture...

but i wouldnt have thought ud have to pay an excess if you werent claiming for your own car,

at the end of the day, uphold your defence that you ever so slightly tapped him, and the insurance company will try and get out of the personal injury claim,

Im no vulture to money, just dont agree with liars if i hit him and his and my car was fooked then i still wouldnt claim, id just buy a new bumper and genuinely sort him out, but he was trying to hint to settle out of insurance but why should i pay for something i believe was already there as it was mearly a tap and we all know how renaults hold out to taps lol theres no paint even on his splitter so thats another indication. Anything could of done it.

I only opened this thread to see if he was having a laugh and to see if he will get away with it.

The cost of buying a new bumper for him, colouring it and fitting it would be cheaper then how much extra you'll have to pay on insurance...

You must have not understood my post, I was stating if I had been hit I would claim against him, Not if I had hit him I would claim for the repairs.

Gutted mate, but running into the back of someones car in the middle of a recession isn't a good idea tbh because a whiplash claim is an easy £1600-2000.

Nightmare to lose your NCB though especially when you want to insure the 172.

If I lost my NCB i'd be changing my car to a diesel for the next 3 years.

I noticed just in time to break because i was watching over my shoulder to see a bus coming but where the guy was stationary the road is bumpy and his car could have rolled back a bit (i use the same route everyday :rasp i think it must have been mm distance it was very close but thankfully ABS is a wonderful thing

TBH im not even fussed anymore, i didnt settle out of insurance because thats what he wanted, he had a courtesy car so for all i know it could have well been there, i dont think the policeman was too impressed with him ringing them over nothing aswel. See what happens eh :rasp:

Yeah Brett gutted pal, would have loved to of had the 172 out asap aswel, ill still get insured i guess... Just have to pay the big premium it requires

Sounds like he is pulling a fast one a bit...but you would be surprised how much unseen damage can be caused by a slight bump. My boyfriend had someone bump him slightly looked like the was hardly any damage but it turned out that it had stopped the tailgait from closing properly...and as he was looking sideways and totally relaxed ..he got whiplash that he still complains about (to me) nearly a year later.
Unlucky for you ..just need to be more careful and make sure the person in front has really pulled off.

Ahh he was mate absolute knob head, trying to say he has the bus driver as proof and bragging how he works as a bus driver and how cctv would of seen me blah blah blah, i said to the police officer "hes taking his sister now to the hospital for whiplash" and the police man responded "there all at it" he was proper sound to me but wanted to see the other guys passport for proof etc.

The guy also starts trying to ask how old i was and how long id been driving bragging how he had been driving 12 years, i replied doesnt matter 12years or 12minutes which it doesnt to have a bump. Hate people who are arrogant it really was annoyin' me

Biggest fast 1 ever lol his sister was jumping out the car completly fine and when the police man turned up she stayed in the car while he goes hes taking her hospital. Pfftttttttttttttttttttt the jokers :rasp:
