Buying a new 182

hello everyone!
defo buying a 182 sport and getting cup suspention etc etc
whats the deal with the renault garages? the dealer by me quoted me 13800 on a new 182 with the extras, non-negotiable...
isnt that really expensive?
im also yet to test drive one as they havnt got one in the north west, ive been in three dealerships and found them all to be completely useless... does anyone want my cash???!
whats the deal with pre-registered cars?
how does the clio compare with the meganes? origionally thought they had a big arse, but theyre slowly growing on me!
adavice please! also do nissan use the same colour for their cars as the inferno? no-ones got any cars in that colour either :( any pics other than the reno protional ones please too! thanks guys! :D

Gwt some quotes from online places, they should be about £12300 then take those quotes to the dealer and "TELL THEM" what you want they will come round.

Bought mine from a dealer in Reading for £12500 with both packs. No messing either, let em know you know what you are talking about.

Whwere abouts you from?? If you are near Reading head to Bridges on Rose Kiln Lane ask for Dave Bond he sort you out a deal.

from the wirral (merseyside)
its poo, they were all bordering on rude (well the guy in sealand reno and both people at reno birkenhead)
i said to the guy that its like 12k to 12.5k online and in a few dealers , even said i was speaking to people on the clio sport forum and thats what they said it would cost an he just said he couldnt help me an stopped speaking to me.

Try Renault Chester there quite good for prices apparently although I never pushed them for money when test driving a 182.

Best idea is to go in and when there saying how much list price is just say I can buy one for £12k with Cup pack are you willing to match. Whatever they say (unless they just agree) stand up thank the guy for his time but say your not willing to pay extra. I recon you wont get 5 feet away beforre he asks you back. When you sit back down just tell him you want a straight none finance (you can get finace cheaper eleswhere often) price to change/buy cash (ddepending upon what your doing).

I know what you mean about the birkenhead dealership I bought my car from them. Also there customer service is useless and all warently work takes ages and most problem they wont fix. However they do have courtesy cars almost all the time and servicing is cheap.

Chester dont havee a 182 demo in at the moment and they dont ever have a 172 Im waiting there call back when they do get one in (I guess theyll get as march reg one).

tried all that in birkhead, and the guy didnt care, just wasnt even gonna try and match an offer between 12/12.5 k on a new car.

as for servicing, someone i know works for the reno/nissan garage there and they said that they find problems that arnt there sometimes and sometimes dont do a full service so from that side of things id avoid them unless you know that theyre defo doing it properly!!!

internet sales for me i think...

by the way your car looks mint!

is the 6cd changer worth getting? is the actual head unit different as well? as in a better unit??

Try Hardings of Bovingdon...

01442 832102 and ask for James. Tell him Danny Taylor recommended him. I think hell be able to do you a fantastic price ;)

Not too sure, but he says he wont be beaten by the internet, and proved it with a Modus he just sold to my dads missus. I dont know that hell be able to get a good price for a 182, but theyre worth a try. Also extremely friendly, helpfull and efficient. They will be looking after my Cup for as long as I own it.

Ordered 182 cup last week for £11,100 from main dealer after a bit of haggling. They took off a grand plus v.a.t as soon as I mentioned I didnt want the 0% finance and then asked if they wanted to match my previous best quote or Id walk. They agreed , there are plenty of dealers willing to trade just dont entertain the mugs that wont.

Well I cannot garantee the service from them but Ive never paid for any extra work even when they didnt want to give me the car keys back as my brakes were 90%+ worn at the service. Ive never realy trust any dealership Im only after the stamp, cheap prices a courtesy car and a wash (it always need one).

Have you seen my car about, or you looking at the pictures?

The head units fine I have no complaints about it and my mates who a bit of a music lover ratres it quite highly as well (all Clio head units are the same the cambosa sticker ones just have uprated speakers).

The CD changer IMO isnt worth what they ask for it if you realy want a CD changer (I have to say I dont use mine that much) then have a look for one for sale on the forum (make sure it has the cable) for say £80 and instalation is dead easy. The head unit is the same. IF you dont want to wait around etc then buy a whole new head unit, converter (so the display and remote works) and a ch cahnger for not much more than £300 and yopull get the extra you spend when you remove the system from the car when you come to sell it and it will be much better quality.

ok- update...
paul from renault warrington is a star,
quoting me 11900 on a uncupped 182,
an under 12700 for a cupped inferno brand new, unregistered
least hes on the same planet as me!!!

recon i could maybee do better, trying new car discount in oldam next...

ok i went crazy an rung everyone,
best price on a cupped 182 is from new-car-discount
in oldham, they wanted 12,500 ,pre-reg, but done 0 milage
thats pretty sweet an can get the warrenty done at any reno

right two questions now
whats the deal with modding the car? will i invalidate the warrenty on say the engiene by putting a bodykit on the car, i only wanna do the back bumper short term, maybe an exhaust, whats the system like thats already on the car?

secondly ive only drove a diesil car for two years, i dont wanna stack the car an stuff in my first few weeks,
can anyone reccomend driving school/ track days etc
that could improve my skills, theres a lot of de-restricted roads by me, it would be gutting to damage my car on them!!! has anyone been on a skid pan too?

:) :) :) :)

In my experience its only engine mods that seem to void ya warramty, such as air filters etc.

Not sure if its worth it thou, its different with certian dealers ive heard...

the standard exhaust will last about 2k miles (well mine only lasted that), as for the warranty, some dealers are ok, most are sh*t, and if you have done the slightest bits they will try and get out of doing it

What about a year or two old 172 for a lot less?

Regars mods well officially they can only refuse work if they can prove thee modification can be attributed to the problem. However its bad PR and difficult to prove often so they replacer parts under warently.

A few owners on here have had wear bearings etc changed even though thy have coilovers fitted which can be directly blamed for the parts failing.

Best idea reagrds not crashing to to learn the limits of the car somewhere safe not with your mates etc in the car. Id recomend a track day so when you do learn the limit and loose it there not much to hit.

Oulton park has a load of 182s at the moment for driving experiance days so that might be worth an idea. Im not sure of prices though.
