Buying a Private plate R77 CUP

Car  Black Gold with cup packs
I am a gnats c**k away from buying this,
What you guys think of it for the 197cup.

nice but is it a real cup your going to put it on! :rasp: wait for everyone to comment!! sits back!!

Buy it if you like it, but don't expect to ever make any money on it - 'plates are sold as being a good investment but only a few people seem to make any money on them lol

Yeah my thoughts at least when it comes to sell up I will not have to transfer anything, as it only has a meaning to this car.

Remember being in a scrap yard near newcastle a couple of years ago and finding what was left of a 172 Cup front bumper with a private plate on that had "CUP" in it... Money / skill imbalance on that one? ;)

I'd go for it tho. Would look sweet. :D

Nice plate for the car but you will probs end up leaving it on when you sell the car.I have ST02 HOT on my ST-2 Focus, looks good for the car but will stay with it.

On a side note, there is an old motor under a cover near my works and the plate reads ST 1G.I'd love to imagine how much that would sell for,the car has apparently been under the cover for years and rotting away.

ST 1G isn't a real reg plate, even if the plates old, it's not possible to get that. My guess is that it has a letter in front of the ST part.

I keep nearly buying a 'V6 ***' from the DVLA - £399 all in, and I could leave it on the car when/if I come to move it on.

It is a real cup yes.

lol. Personal opinion but i've always thought that private plates that are car specific are a waste. Get a personal one that can be re used on another car. As for proper cup, tut tut

Ah now see, I've always thought the opposite as many personal plates don't mean anything to anyone else (initials for example). Although this is probably clouded because I'd want a 'DAN' plate - and they're a bit pricey hehe. Whereas I think I good private plate that is car related can be a nice finishing touch, such as the "V6 ***" plates a lot of people have on their vees. Wouldn't buy one as an investment though - that's just silly heh, you have to write off the cash if you buy it IMHO like any mod.

Dan

my friend has r44 cup on his 197 cup, carried it over from both previous cups, limits his options of buying anything else i s'pose:)

I'm going to go for it. Robvisously Renault 77seven is my nickname CUP as it's a CUP

V6 WOW or something yours isn't it? I'm sure if chose a nice one, it would have some resale on eBay for sure - but I wouldn;t be banking on it if you see what I mean.

Dan

Close, it's V6 NOW. I think V6 WOW went ages ago (it's probably worth 5k now too) I'm not banking on mine fetching a lot at all, but someone will buy it.
I got it as it was a nice finishing touch (loads better than an 02 reg that's for sure)

Nice plate, not much use to someone with a BMW or Merc or whatever but then again someone will buy it
