buying head gasket on its own

Car  '92 172, Lotus Elise
I've reused my head gasket about 3 times now. the first 2 times it was only in use for a few miles and the 3 time... about 300 miles I think.

I've since had to take the engine apart again to get it honed and fit new piston rings. the gasket *looks* ok. the block has been decked and the head skimmed, so they're good too... I'm just a bit dubious about reusing it again and possibly destroying my hard work!

I've found head gasket sets, but I don't need any of the other bolts or gaskets, so it seems like a bit of a wasted expense.

so, does anywhere do the F4R/F4P head gasket on its own?

:D

ok cheers, just had a look on dialogys and can only see the set, but i'll give them a call

rung around a few places. Renault don't sell them individually.

finally found a place that has them for about £14...but they will get them 'maybe Tuesday' :/

Where abouts are u based mate? Have u tried camberly's, parto co, or cpa, not sure if they would do it but worth a go. I've got all the numbers to hand if need be!! There are other factors i've got numbers for too just not sure how good they would be!

Camberly are the ones that can source it :)

just waiting on a call back to confirm their stock
