Buying my first car. Clio 1.2

Lowish mileage and pretty cheap, worth a look.

Insurance will probably be ridiculous for you at 18, but it's ridiculous for every 18 year old male no matter what car you drive these days it seems.

  2001 1.2 Clio Black.
Cheap for that mileage! Worth a look.

I paid £1400 for my 2001 1.2 16V Clio and the mileage was a 112k! ( Wanted a Black One! )

Im 18 and paying £1,500 a year which isnt to bad considering my first year i paid £1850.

probably the most expensive one you will come across is the wiring harness on the back of the engine rubbing on the engine and cutting through the wiring loom.

the much cheaper and more common ones are faulty coil packs causing missfiring, dodgey throttle bodys causing rough running, faulty TDC sensors causing it to not start sometimes, leaking waterpump causing it to loose coolant, dont worry about mayo under the oil filler cap its normal, loads of people find them loosing coolant and mayo and think its HGF but really its just a dodgey pump! a must to change the waterpump at cambelt change time!

I'm 18, on my first year insurance on a 1.2 clio, paying £1800 annual. Considering you've been insured on a car already, you may get it cheaper.
