Buying used 172 - Clutch wonder...

Test drove a cup a few months back

then today test drove a 172...and bought! I didnt pay 100% attention to everything as it was at a dealer.

Its 2002 52 with 27K on the clock:

Everytime i drove the 172, pulling away took alot of getting used to? Mainly because i dont ease my foot off the clutch pedal too much/too quickly -

On this 172 I got to traffic lights and put in 1st, waited for the bite and noticed its quite high off the floor on the pedal?

So say there is 100mm of travel from foot firmly on the floor, ease foot off clutch until about 20mm of pedal movement left and its just bites?

normal im guessing/hoping! Thanks

I take it your don't already own a Clio?
I wouldn't worry much loads of people complain about the clucth being high if you've driven a Clio you'll know there never good.

Mine is a 172 02 plate, exactly same, heavy clutch, high biting point........so was my previous 1.2, takes a bit of getting used to

My 1.2 was the same as this as well clutch biting point is always really high but on the upshot it means you only have to tap the thing to change gear.
