Sold the 172 today... knew I'd feel gutted but didn't realise quite how much! Doesn't help that it's been a manic weekend, the missus is away for a couple days, United lost and England were shite in the rugby... oh, and the car I was lining up to replace her was sold yesterday!

Right decision though, just not practical for what we need at the moment and as she approached 80k, I think there was only so much longer before the little niggly things would turn into larger problems...

Still, best car I've owned and there's always that initial "should I have done that?" moment when she drives off.

Sold for just under £3500 - a little low considering the overall condition I feel, but there were a couple small issues with the bodywork that'll costs around £200-250 or sort.

No exactly onwards and 'upwards', just a move across! I'm planning on getting a Mk4 Golf as it's more suitable to motorway and town driving. The initial plan was a Diesel, but all the slightly sporty 'GT' ones are overpriced compared to the petrol GTi version... so we'll see!

I keep twisting my groin since I've had it lowered, but then I shouldn't be a fat sod.

Trade in tends to be very poor on these now as they will more than likely just be shipped off to auction. But, it does avoid the hassle of having to sell and entertain various timewasters...

I was lucky in selling mine quite quickly!

not as fast as the clio...but imo st170 over a golf gti anyday.

will certainly handle alot better than the golf.
