Cam/Aux belt Change with supplied dephaser Bham area

  clio 172
As the title suggest, my clio is up for its second cam belt change. I know Fred is local to me and a genius but he wont fit customer supplied parts ( which i can understand ) I already have my own replacement dephaser which i managed to buy for a very good price. Other Than Fred, is there anyone else local who could carry this work out with the correct locking tools and know how etc?

What James said.

Sell it and take it to Fred. He fits the parts he does for a reason. He only uses a specific belt kit too IIRc.

Buy Cheap Dephaser get fitted by 'local garage' save a few quid in short term, until you realise 'local garage' didnt time your car up correctly etc and you have to spend more cash putting it right.

Or

Sell Dephaser and get Fred to do the job right first time and save money in the long run.

I know what I would do.

I will do it, but there are two conditions:
  • I cannot warrant your parts... that's down to your supplier
  • I cannot warrant the job based on a part failing... eg. no consiquential loss or replacements
If you're okay with that then i'm in Nottingham. I also want to know exactly what parts you have you proberbly don't have all the bits to do the job correctly.

Thanks Everyone,

I only have the dephaser, nothing else. I understand on the warranty side of things, i've done plenty of research on here and there are loads of posts regarding the pitfalls and problems of not using the correct tools or cheaper belts etc and trust me i wouldnt give my car to someone who doesnt have the right tools or uses a belt other than Gates but given to a competent mechanic who follows the correct proceedures and takes their time ( they will have my car for 10 days while im on holiday ) i know it can be done. Even Fred had to change a cam belt for the first time once!

Mick could you PM a price for a cam/aux belt change and dephaser? I understand with a dephaser ill also need an oil and filter change, is that correct?
