Cambelt??

My clio 172 has just rolled over 72000 an am wondering would it need a cambelt because looking through my cars history it had one at 35000??
Also I had a quote for £600 for a change at my local Renault garage, does this seem abot ott??:S

35k would of most likely been just the Auxbelt worth checking if both belts where done. If not get into a specialist not to sure who is close to you maybe Danny at 519 Automotive, Rentech, Fred@BTMperformance or Mick at Diamond motors.

£600 isnt bad but worth checking what that involves, you will get more for your money from a specialist.

The guy said it would be a full kit plus aux belts, fitted but was unsure if it was a good price?? I dont think there is any specialists round Norfolk?

They still do! That's a great price if it includes the pulleys etc!!

for 150 quid doesnt even buy the cambelt kit these days.

I think they do, as long as its a 16V they include it in the £150. J6PKP are you from Norfolk way?

I don't know how but they are, I called a week back and asked if the "Clio sport 182 is included in this offer" I even gave my reg, they checked and they said it is 100% included.... Offer of the century in my eyes

Good shout about east bilney! I just bought a Clio 182 and it had its belt done in 2009 so I might get it changed again for this price!

So a new belt kit, seal kit, end caps & the crush bolt all fitted & retimed for £150. How exactly?

I gave them a call this morning and the £150 is only a cambelt on all models except Renaultsport. For the Renaultsports they charge £300 for Belt and Pulley (excluding alternator, dephaser and water pump although if these need replacing they will look when they are replacing cambelt and if so will add these on top of the £300)
