Cams Advice

  clio 172 cup
I know Cams have been discussed many times on here so apologies if I have been rubbish at searching for the answer.

A little background, I have a 172 cup which I had the engine rebuilt an few years ago and as part of the rebuild I had Piper R172BP270 cams and tuned to suit. I eventually this year got round to checking the tune and it managed 172 bhp on the Engine Dynamics rollers. At the time it had the standard air box all be it with a K&N filter, standard timing and standard exhaust manifold. On Andys advice I have now fitted a Fatty style induction and a 182 exhaust manifold.

I have also been offered some 197 cams, which I believe with the 7 or 8 degree timing and the existing mods should give good results.

My question is, would I see similar gains if I was just to add the 7 or 8 degree timing to the Piper Cams I already have or am I better swoping to the 197 cams?

The car isn't driven much on the road and is mostly used for hillclimbs and sprints.

Any advice is welcomed, thank you
