Thats rather suprising. Ive heard 1*2 dont respond well to modifications but i didnt think they would suffer that bad!
You need ITB's to run right if you have wild cams? Thats a new one... :S :quiet:
172's respond ok to mods, its just that you have to pay in the neck for silly small gains
utter load of tripe. Wild cams mean more lift at TDC, more lift means more chance of your pistons hitting the valves, in which case you can pocket the pistons to clear. To get wild cams running right you need to machine the pistons if they are that wild and also run standalone because of the overlap.

turbo's are great for people with load of money that like to replace major engine components on a weekly basis. Lad off Williams Clio's went bang, Nick Read's was unreliable as f**k, even years down the line once the process was perfected and my mate Adi bought it, the car was still an unreliable albeit fast 'nail'. Yes, turbo's make more power, but they cost the same for the same power as ITB's and blow up... or you can spend 8k+ and get one that's even faster and will blow a hole in your pocket as quick as it will the block.

having driven both turbo clios and high power n/a clios imo the n/a ones are abit more fun. Yeah charged cars do make more power but do cost a fair bit more to build in most cases.
cams and single body can give a healthy 200bhp, it transforms the way the car drives giving it alot more mid range power and responce. With itb's its taken to the next level with the clio's. With the right shassis set up and some good brakes you can seriously upset some £XXXXXX cars around the roads and track!
Got a good couple of demo cars at GDI so you can come get an idea before you make your mind if you wish!

Not forgotten, just never heard of it... which could be a good or bad thing. Price seems good until you realise it doesn't include fitting, which will basically bring the cost up over an ITB conversion and yields the same power but with more torque... not to mention more stress on standard internals being boosted. No idea how reliable this will be, if it's anything like any other turbo conversion it will fail at some point, and spectacularly at that. My engines survived 80k, 40k of which on bodies and makes 220bhp all day long
Think the problem is the gearbox, rarity of getting hold of a donor engine and cost vs other methods.
Sure i read someone on here tried but gave up due to various problems
Better cost per turbo option would be a VAG 20v Turbo conversion
