iv decided deffo going to get cat cams,i want low down acceleration am corrct in saying its the 420's i need,if so can i use my rs tuner to map the car with these?

420's give a lower power curve, however 428's / schrick will be my choice.

428's are the more lairy than the 420's so ge those. All down to personal choice whether you get Shrick or Cat though

Speak with sm wrc on here as he seems to have done alot of research into which Cam's are best for what requiremnets

We have found the CatCams 55002428 Camshafts to be the best performing in the CatCams range if the car is to be used on the road. Any wilder than this and you will find that the engine won't idle even if you get it re-mapped. I don't know the profiles on the Shrick range well enough to be able to give recomendations there unfortunately.

I did a lot of looking into cams a couple of weeks back. After speaking to someone who knows what they're talking about i decided against it due to the price for the bhp i was going to gain. On a 182 your looking at your looking at 6-8 bhp (bear in mind i was told this from a guy who would have done the job for me and has done many before)

I've been thinking about it again recently as my cambelt will need doing within the next year so i might get them done then to save money.

I also emailed henk about remapping as i also have the rstuner. Just send him the data afterwards and he'll make you a map for 50 euro iirc

Agree with Gazm..... If your Cambelt Service is due anythime soon that would be the time to get Cam's as your over 1/2 way there with a Cambelt change anyway,

I'm thinking Cam's Next Year when i get my Cambelt Changed

i think he has cat cams i'm not sure but whatever he's put in it the car made good power (the maps not even finished yet) and it had torque all across the rev range.

and its in the process of being mapped with an rs tuner

Have a look at the schrick cams for the F4r more expensive then the porsche gt3 cams (per cam)

Can't get them cheaper than this. Here in Holland there is a dealer who is situated near Germany and goes to collect his goods himself from factory ; his price is also 425 per shaft

Its only about an hour of top of a cam belt change to swap the cams shafts as well IIRC!

Defiantly the most "worth while" time to be doing it.. that's when I shall be making the plunge
