Can any one help....

Fitted my mk2 ph2 rear clusters to my mk2 ph1, and followed the wiring guide here at http://www.fubarnet.com/clusters.html it seemed all great. Tested one, everything worked, but the reverse light was REALLY DULL, then all of a sudden it blinked once or twice and turned off......

I thought either bulb or loose wire, so tried new bulb, no joy, no loose wire, and then tried bulb holder from other light, STILL no joy. Now tried the other light, everthing worked as it should, BUT this time the reverse light didnt come on, tested bulb in another hole and tested all i did before, i.e different bulb holder etc.

Any one had this problem? If so PLEASE HELP i was so happy..... lol

On the bright side very happy with the look and items i recieved (cheers steve)

Is there a fuse just for the reverse lights then? Thats what i thought could be a possibility... but i thought there would be a fuse for all lights or something?

Sry to post again, but have read some other threads about a switch on the gearbox or something? Or is that only on the sport? Other thing is, is there anything else that wouldnt be working if it was a fuse?

Morning/Afternoon bump, please help... I cant drive around without reverse lights forever....

just pull the bulbs out for now lol, till some 1 gives u the correct answer, instead beeing stuck to go nowhere..

They're not on permenantely, just dont come on... so not really a prob for general drive, just not good at all for reverse parking round here...

Update....

Rewired the lights so that they were as original, did not work, so started live testing....

There is no power going to the reverse light wire, and there isnt even any power getting as far as the switch on the gear box.... HELP!

Checked the fuses, there is no fuse listed for reverse lights? Only one for rear fogs? And they are still working... What could it be?

Silly question, but...
Did you check the live at the switch with the ignition on/engine running?

Yes, in reverse, ignition on.... Lol I have some common sense Sorta...

The reverse light switch is fed from fuse.3 15Amp (blue) in the main fuse board, end of dash pax side.

If this works you rule!!! Looking in the manual it didnt mention any fuse for the reverse lights!!! I will be massively happy
