Can I delete JAVA (TM) what is it? 159mb

Hi folks, I am removing files that I dont use to clean up some room, I have a program called JAVA (TM) SE RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT 6 UPDATE 1

It says 'rarely used' and its 159mb. But I need your help to know if its required to run my computer? I dont wanna delete it incase its needed.

Any help would be good.

it isnt essential, but lots of webpages and applications need java to run, so it is best to keep it.
