Can i lower my 16v with 17 wheels on

Well, i want to lower my 16v by 30-35mm. Im just going to replace the front springs, and get someone to adjust the torsion bar - but does anyone know if it will rub being lowered?? Its fine at the moment except on full lock they catch on the inner guards but apart from that its fine!

Well Ive just put 18s on my 35mm lowered 16v, and they rub a bit, but 17s should go on easy, just take out the sh*tguards and bobs your uncle.

Will taking out the sh*tguards let mud/water etc get in and rust through though??

Yes it will let in crud, not a problem if you wash your car once a week which I do anyway. Got the Wolfrace Octanes in Hyper Black finish.
