Canon Lens F.D?

Ok. I have read the lens guide and couldn't see anything that related to "F.D" on a lens.

I've seen some pretty cheap ones on ebay but have F.D instead of E.F

Does that mean they will only work on 35mm film cameras and not digital?

The ebay adverts are crap and offer no insight to it.

FD only work on really old film cameras, the more recent ones were also EF. You can buy a converter but you will not have AF and the quality does not really warrant the hassle TBH. For a tiny bit extra cash you could get the 1.8 with AF.

Ah right, there goes the chance of a 50mm for £30!

Will wait and get the 1.8 AF or is it worth saving more again and getting the 1.4 (pretty big price increase though)

If you keep an eye out on the bay you should pick up a mk1 (metal mount and apparently the better version) 50mm 1.8 for around 50-80
