Can't undo top mount....

Can't get thr front top mounts undone on my car at all, help!
I'm doing it properly, done them many times before.

Used loads of penetrant fluid, heated it up etc, it won't budge.

Will it make a difference to trying to crack them off when the car is in the air, normally do this when the car is on thr ground but forgot this time, will that make a difference?

Any ideas?!

Hmm, I'll drop it down again then and see if that works.
If not then I'll get a garage to crack it off tomorrow hopefully.

I put plenty of wd40 on the night before, but still had to use a battery powered impact driver on them to get them undone!!

I'll just go to my local garage tomorrow, well pissed off!

Bent 1 allen key, and snapped another too!

we couldnt get mine off way back when.. popped down to quick fit... they got it off in seconds with an airgun

Lowered mine yesterday, was a pig to loosen them!

Ground 2 flats onto a socket to get a spanner on and then an allen key through the middle. Was tight:

I snapped 1 allen key, twisted another so I was all out!
Just had a breakdown guy out, he snapped a snap-on allen key socket bit!!

Not bad at all!
I need an impact driver to get it cracked off, not budging by hand on this one!

You mean try and crack off the top mount without using an allen key to begin with?

This doesnt work, the shock spins as soon as the nut it moved.

Yeh usually doesnt if you have a longer wrench and do it short and sharp but probs best get a garage to do it if its being a b*****d

Yeah tried everything mate.
If you look at my other thread about the spring not being seated properly, thats the effect of my trying earlier today!

Just need the garage to crack both the top mounts off, then tighten then enough for me to drive 200 yards home, so I can take it all to bits!

Yeah I'm going at 1.30 to get them to crack them off so i can do it all at home.

Gonna do the backs now though, so just the fronts to do this afternoon.
